CFNC Financial Aid Workshops in DPS

Carolina (CFNC), Sarita Broadway will hosts three (3) district-wide Financial Aid Workshops for all high school parents and students. The location of the event will be posted at the schools as parents and students arrive at the school site. Program Information staff members at CFI are eager to help present information about CFI's programs - the North Carolina student loan program and the North Carolina Student Incentive Grant - at financial aid workshops held at high schools across the state. A majority of schools hold these workshops in the winter, to prepare students and parents for completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in a timely manner.

Governor's Page Program PDF Print E-mail

When Governor Bev Perdue visited Durham to help present the NEA Foundation grant, she encouraged high school students in DPS to apply for the Governor’s Page Program.  This program is year-round and runs each week from Monday at 1:00 pm to Friday at 2:00 pm.  The program is open to all high school students between the ages of 15 and 18, who are in good academic standing at their schools.  Pages receive $150 to cover their expenses during their week of service.  Pages spend time learning about how government operates and spending time in the State Capitol and other state facilities.  For more information go online to www.volunteernc.org/code/govpage.htm

Durham Public Schools wants to ensure that we are providing the most up-to-date information about the budget process.  We began preparation for the 2011-12 budget in October and like other school districts in North Carolina, DPS is gearing up to face another challenging budget year.  It is my goal to protect the classroom and keep with our mission of providing a high-quality education for all of our students.

This Web page will be useful to you as we continue through the budget adoption process.  Please check this site often as information will be updated throughout the budget season.
